Norfolk Cycle Show, Sunday Dates and the Sufferfest

An estimated 7000 visitors came to our Norfolk Cycle Show last weekend at the Forum in Norwich. A big thank you for supporting us. It was a bold move for us to branch out and work on this with Luke Rumbelow and at times in the run up to the event we did wonder if we would be there on on our lonesome! However, 7000 visitors can not be wrong and proves that cycling is thriving in our area.

VC Norwich out in force supporting the show.

Our friend (and pro-photographer) from GYCC, Jules Claxton spent the day snapping away and you can see his pictures at http://jalbum.net/a/1303877 Have a look at some of the amazing piccies of the day and some of you posing with Sean Yates. If you fancy a copy, you can purchase them directly from Jule from his link.

Talking of Sean Yates, did anyone see him get turned over on the Rollerdrome by a talented tri-athelete and an ageing local time trial veteren (who idolised Yates as a youngster)….I wonder who that was?  http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152219277907195&set=o.207005189334371&type=2&theater

I have also updated the website with all the spring and summer coaching and racing dates. I will update all the details (exact times, prices, booking details etc) over the next few days and our new website will be live very soon. Next week we will be announcing the beginners Time Trialling League for April and May in response to your feedback and requests. You can download and view the posters etc from the website aswell. If you need any for your workplace, school, community etc then please let me know. There has never been a better time to ride a bike in Norfolk! We are committed to creating a substantial cycle venue and programme of events for us here in Norfolk and would love your help and support to make this happen. If you would like to volunteer for a job on Sundays, Friday nights or can post some posters on a local notice board or your website then please contact us and lets make something amazing happen together.

This weeks Sufferfest is set to be another cracker with several new riders booked in – we trust you will find us all welcoming and helpful suffer-mates! We still have a few spaces left so get in quick! No need to book if you have your own turbo and bike. Lastly, a big thanks to everyone who helped us on Sunday: the Codlings on the smoothie bike, Sam, David, Matt, Lucy and Sophie on the Rollerdrome, Nigel, Leon and Ben on the Total-Trax and Sarah, Miles, Lesley and Harvey on the club stand – you were awesome!
