What? A cycle show in the heart of Norfolk? Wow!

Amazing, this weekend sees the inaugural Norfolk Cycle Show at the forum from 10 until 3. At last, a quality show that is not a 4 hour round trip away! Click here for the latest timetable: Norfolk Cycle ShowTimetable

The NCA will be out in force and we will be launching our Sunday coaching programme, TT series and circuit racing series. Please pop in during the day, say hello and come and see what we have in store for you this spring and summer.

Friday night is Sufferfest night and I have had to sadly turn many of you away as all 20 of our hire turbos are booked and the Tri-Anglia ones are going fast. Still a few turbo’s in the 6.15 session.

You do not need to book if you are bringing your own – you can always take Pedal Revolution up on their amazing turbo offers, it could change your life (when training programme at least…!)

Racing League, Brand New Sufferfest, Cycle Show: It’s never been so exciting to own a bike in Norfolk!

Kev had been working hard and produced a brand new workout entirely from scratch. It’s a tough little session ideal for building winter endurance and a couple of little surprises thrown in… We have lots of turbo’s available for the 6.15 session which is usually quiet – or have you all bought your own turbo’s now???? No need to book if you have your own turbo and bike. click here for more: http://blog.pedalrevolution.co.uk/events/the-sufferfest-training-night-2013-01-25

Talking of Turbo’s, club sponsors Pedal Revolution have just received a new batch of Elite and Tacx turbo’s and still have some cracking deals to get NCA, VC Norwich and Tri-Anglia members  suffering. Pop in and see for yourself and have a cuppa in the lounge.

The racing dates for this season’s Sunday racing league at the Airport Circuit are complete. We will have a spring (starting 10th March) and summer racing league (starting 30th June) each with 8 rounds over 4 dates – that is 16 races in total!!! We have categories for all the usual youth classes (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16) plus female adults and allcomers. The racing will be fast and furious and aimed at improving your technique, racecraft and speed. The timetable will have your two races close to one another so you are not hanging around all day. Before each round, we will present the respective overall category leader with a Yellow jersey to wear for that round and we have some amazing trophies. We will be launching the racing leagues at the Norfolk Cycle Show on Sunday 3rd Feb and announcing a headline sponsor who shares our passion for providing facilities and events specifically for youth, female and new racers in our region.

Our coaching dates will be announced at the show also and family/adult coaching will also be available on race days on a separate circuit so you have an NCA family, female and new rider coaching session every two weeks aimed at building technique, confidence and helping you get the most from your riding whatever your goals.

Sufferfest Cancelled…

It may be the perfect time of year for your turbo, but it’s not the perfect time of year for schools!

Unfortunately – but understandably – City Academy are closing early tonight so our Sufferfest is OFF.

With the Sufferfest off, Neil thought he would try a new type of cycling…

apologies – see you next week.
Neil. Kev & Simon.

Perfect Turbo Weather!

I told Kev not to stop too long at the lights….

It’s been a proper winter week with ice, snow and fog but my turbo has been glowing red hot here in my suffer chamber at NCA Towers! Kev has been beavering away on a new Sufferfest and Simon having recovered from a cold will ensure we are up to full strength to give our brave Sufferers on Friday night a treat. click here for details and to check your booking: http://blog.pedalrevolution.co.uk/events/the-sufferfest-training-night-2013-01-18

This week the NCA (amongst other things!) gave the Great Yarmouth MIND young people a fantastic Rollerdrome night in their clubroom and we think we may have uncovered a new flyer of a 14 year-old lad who has never ridden a bike before (really!) but managed to blitz yours truely on a 500m Roller Racing sprint –  so watch out youngsters, we hope to convince Ryan to learn to ride!

British Cycling have approved and authorised our proposed racing leagues for 2013. We will be having two eight race leagues – from March to May and June to October respectively. Each monthly event will have two races per day and the overall leader of each category will be presented with a yellow leaders jersey on the grid before each round! We will have racing for:

- u8′s & u10′s u12′s u14′s and u16′s

- Female adults (novices with a free provisional licence and those with race licences)

- Adults and Juniors (u18s) with or without race licences

Our races will be designed to improve and build technique, tactics and fitness and represent the first season long race programme in our area for as long as anyone can remember. On race days we will also continue to offer family and young rider coaching to build confidence and riding ability and if we can find a BMX and/or mountain bike coach we will introduce the awesome ActivatingCIC TotalTrax pump and mountain bike track – any volunteers????

We will be announcing the Racing Series and our Coaching Programme at the Norfolk Cycling Show at the Forum in Norwich on 3rd February and we would love you all to come and support this brilliant event that has boldly been provided to kickstart our season.

Keep cycling,

Neil, Kev and Simon.

New Faces, Sunday Dates and a Cervelo Corker!

This week we thought the Sufferfest would be a little quiet as it is the AGM and Awards ceremony for the Tri-Anglia Club. But no, we have been amazed at how many new faces have booked into this week’s sufferfest and snapped up all the turbo’s and bikes! Kev and I can not wait to meet you and we know you will love this weeks challenging (and sooooo rewarding) session.

You can check the bookings for Friday here: http://blog.pedalrevolution.co.uk/events/the-sufferfest-training-night-2013-01-11 Please remember to bring a towel to protect the floor beneath you.

The Norfolk Cycle Show at the Forum on 3rd February is already to roll and the NCA will be present with ActivatingCIC’s new portable pump and mountain bike track, the smoothie bike and the Rollerdrome! What more do you need for a great family day out, let alone the trade stands and the chance to meet some cycling celebs? http://www.thenorfolkcycleshow.co.uk/

We are very close to being able to announce our racing calendar and the dates for family coaching, female riding and race coaching on Sundays at the airport. Get your diaries ready next week. We hope to start Sunday coaching for the season on February 10th or 17th – and the first of our new exciting season long racing league will kick off on the 3rd March (to be confirmed next week). We are raring to go and just ironing out the final details.

Pedal Revolution have been busy helping many of you with bike fits and turbo’s thanks to their NCA members deals and this week have added an amazing offer for those serious about their sport – the amazing aero all-carbon Cervelo S2 frame in all sizes (from 48cm for ladies and youths to 60 for the big boys) for £999.99 – just ring or pop in and ask Gareth for details. This is around £800 off the RRP!

Happy cycling and hopefully see you all at an NCA event soon.
